Our Team

DUSTIN CURRENT : PRESIDENT
Dustin Current’s path to becoming a builder was shaped by generations of inspiration, years of leadership, and a deep commitment to serving people well.

His grandmother, Jewel Moye “Jerry,” built homes in Tow, Texas, giving Dustin an early appreciation for construction and inspiring his dream of one day becoming a builder himself. That foundation, combined with the discipline and perseverance developed through high school & collegiate football & track, Undergrad and Graduate School at the University of Kentucky helped shape the work ethic he brings to every project today.

Dustin went on to build a successful career with Life Time, a Fortune 500 company, where he gained extensive experience across 14 in-center businesses. These operations ranged from commercial construction, concierge services, urgent care facilities, apartments, shared workspaces,
Engineering, & other complex business divisions. By learning the details of each operation and consistently developing strong teams, Dustin worked his way up to leading more than 400 employees for nearly a decade.

During his time at Life Time, Dustin was entrusted with turning around 3 underperforming regions in a row. Each was experiencing negative year-over-year results & employee turnover as high as 92%. By rebuilding the culture, investing in employees, strengthening accountability, & putting the right people in positions to succeed, Dustin helped return all three regions to profitability while reducing annual employee turnover to below 40%.. The philosophy behind those results was simple: Take care of people, & they will take care of you. When employees feel respected, valued, supported, and accountable, stronger service & better performance naturally follow—and so does profitability.

After leaving the corporate world, Dustin was blessed with the opportunity to help lead two award-winning home builders throughout the Texas Hill Country. Those experiences strengthened his knowledge of residential construction, project management, client service, & subcontractor relationships.
When the time came to establish Current Custom Homes, Dustin brought with him a leadership philosophy rarely seen in the building industry—one centered on strong teams, clear communication, accountability, respect, and genuine care for every person involved.
Dustin believes in being firm but fair, treating others according to the Golden Rule, and approaching every decision with empathy and prayer. He believes that when challenges are handled with integrity and placed in God’s hands, the right path becomes clear.

Today, Current Custom Homes is built on that foundation: faith-led leadership, purposeful relationships, transparent communication, serving communities during good times and bad, and beautifully crafted homes designed around the people who will live in them.
